This December, Milan is celebrating 10 years of bike sharing!
In the last ten years we have achieved a lot: Our 640,000 subscriptions, resulted in 23 million rentals. Those hardy cyclists have gone a total of 46,120,088 km, working hard and having fun to save 9.3 million kg of CO2! And the enthusiasm keeps on growing, 2017 was a record year with 4,285,017 rentals and 8,570,018 km covered.
In the mayor’s words: “These successes highlight the city’s dedication towards sustainability and the citizens’ attitude to bike use.”
On 13 December 2018, seven new stations were inaugurated in the Sharing Cities pilot area. That means 150 new e-bikes with child seats financed by the project are available for use – here’s to many more record years in the future!
