On 29 June 2017 from 11:00 to 12:30 (Brussels time / CET time), Sharing Cities hosted a webinar on citizen engagement in Lisbon. The presentation was done by Renata Lajas, Advisor for the Lisbon Deputy Mayor Office of Housing and Local Development.
In the context of the Sharing Cities programme a series of work-shadowing visits are organised with the replication lead, Bernadett Köteles-Degrendele from EUROCITIES.
The Deputy Mayor of Bordeaux and Lisbon and technical experts met for an exchange in May where they have spoken about the practices of the two cities on governance and citizen engagement.
The visit gave a good insight into how Lisbon can be an inspiring example on citizen engagement and what is the status, practices applied in the Sharing Cities programme.
Lisbon, lighthouse city within Sharing Cities project, is developing innovation processes to engage with its citizens for the design and implementation of smart city solutions. The webinar will look at Lisbon’s existing strategies for energy efficiency, renewable energy and mobility policies engaging citizens, but also at incentives mechanisms and co-design approaches.
With the presentation of Renata Lajas, Advisor for the Lisbon Deputy Mayor Office of Housing and Local Development, who has participated in the work-shadowing visit we would like to offer a chance to interested scale-up cities for learning from this example and ask questions.
A recording of the webinar is available hereunder:
The presentations used during the webinar is available at the bottom of this page.
We are eager to hear inspiring examples from cities, please contact us if you have any good practices to share!
