On 4-6 April, the EUROCITIES Knowledge Society Forum dedicated to ‘Co-creating smart cities’ will be hosted by Lyon. Smart city strategies always require cities to reconsider their governance approach to make it more collaborative based on partnerships. The subject of this event is particularly relevant for projects like Sharing Cities, which strive to actively engage citizens in the development of smart city solutions. During the two-day meeting, participants will also exchange views on standards, interoperability, data, and access to technologies. A special session will be dedicated to how cities participating in smart cities lighthouse projects engage with citizens and in which areas (e.g. community hubs, better energy management, crowdfunding, or participatory budgeting). These exchanges will offer participants an opportunity to learn from each other, share successful co-creation strategies, and eventually replicate what works.
Participants will also hear an update on the recently launched Urban Agenda partnership on digital transition.
All registered participants will gain free admission to SIdO, the leading international showroom dedicated to the Internet of Things, which will be held in Lyon on 5-6 April.
