The Smart City Information System (SCIS) is organising a webinar on “Regulatory, financial and social barriers & solutions for innovation: lessons learned from EU smart cities projects”. The webinar will take place on Wednesday 17 May from 10:30 to 11:30 CET.
Developing smart cities is not solely a technological challenge as it also comprises regulatory, financial and technological elements. Indeed, some non-technical issues may prove to be more challenging to resolve than simply the technological barriers alone, oftentimes the successful outcome of a project can depend on this. By aggregating best practices and lessons distilled from projects implemented across Europe, the SCIS provides a valuable repository of information for all smart city stakeholders. This webinar aims to present the SCIS framework for addressing non-technical issues in the fields of Energy, Mobility & Transport and ICT by showcasing several examples.
REMOURBAN, another Horizon 2020 lighthouse project, sister project of Sharing Cities, and City-zen project will contribute by sharing their own experiences with non-technical challenges which they have encountered and will provide recommendations to smart city stakeholders.
The speakers will be Jorge Nuñez-Ferrer, Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Miguel Ángel García Fuentes, CARTIF Technology Centre and Craig Lee Martin, Delft University of Technology.
