The Knowledge Society Forum will meet in Ghent on 16-18 April 2018 to exchange views and discuss ‘Transparency in a city of people’.
The programme will be animated by debates and panel discussions on blockchain, data-journalism and fake news, personal data and the role of Science Fiction. Following the success of the Uppsala meeting, a speed-networking session where cities will have the opportunity to present smart cities projects, activities or new strategies and approaches will be also organised. Attendees will also learn about the data standards and interoperability, Smart Flanders Initiative.
An open conference will take place on Tuesday 17 April at 14:15 in the city hall of the city of Ghent (Botemarkt 1), on the theme 'Democracy in a Digital Age'. The deadline for registration is 30 March 2018. Please find more information about this conference and a link for registration in the document below.
Finally, visits will be organised to the new, interactive, public library: not just a quiet and relaxing area but also a place to meet people and to experiment in the ‘maker’s lab’ and a private tour to admire the newly restored ‘The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb’ 1432 altarpiece.
